Classroom Management and Learning Theories Essay -- teaching practices,

Teachers use theories, models of learning, and professional standards to shape their teaching practices. There are several learning theories that have evolved the educational field. Theories guide instruction and the beliefs of the teachers. Teachers use these theories, standards, and personal beliefs to develop goals in order to improve teaching effectiveness. Through exploring multiple learning theories and reflecting on my own teaching beliefs, I have developed my own theory of learning. As I developed my theory, I wanted to consider what it takes to be a highly effective teacher. An effective teacher must have mastery of instructional strategies, classroom management, classroom curriculum design, and use assessments as feedback (Laureate Education, 2010a). By using a variety of instructional strategies, teacher’s can meet the learning styles of all the students in the classroom. Effective classroom management can lead to students feeling safe and more willing to take risks. When a student feels comfortable to take risk, then learning will increase and the students’ confidence will grow. Classroom management also creates order in the environment, which will allow effective learning to occur. By understanding curriculum, the teacher can target skills and causes learning to take place. Teachers need to deliberately pl an lessons around standards and specific goals based on curriculum and the school’s mission (Marzano, 2010). Assessments need to be use to guide instruction and used as a â€Å"method for improvement and mastery,† (Marzano, 2010). Teachers Day

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, OM, FBA (Telugu: ; 5 September 1888 – 17 April 1975) was an Indian philosopher and statesman. He was the first Vice-President of India (1952–1962) and subsequently the second President of India (1962–1967). One of India's most influential scholars of comparative religion and philosophy, Radhakrishnan is considered through his efforts to have built a bridge between the East and the West by showing that the philosophical systems of each tradition are comprehensible within the terms of the other.He wrote authoritative exegeses of India's religious and philosophical literature for the English speaking world. His academic appointments included the King George V Chair of Mental and Moral Science at the University of Calcutta (1921-? ) and Spalding Professor of Eastern Religions and Ethics at Oxford University (1936–1952). Among the many honours he received were a knighthood (1931) and the Bharat Ratna (1954). His birthday is celeb rated in India as Teacher's Day on 5 September.Since times immemorial, Indians have respected and idolized their teachers. Earlier, we used to call our teachers ‘Guru' and now it's the contemporary ‘Sir' or ‘Madam'. Nevertheless, the role of teachers has remained the same. As a mark of respect to this phenomenal teacher, his birthday came to be observed as Teacher’s Day in the country.On Teacher's day, students across India dress up as their teachers and take lectures in classes that are assigned to the teachers they represent. Sometimes, teachers sit in their classes as students, trying to relive the time when they, themselves, were students. Also, functions are organized in schools on the special day, where students present dance performances, dramas, and various other programs to entertain their teachers. This day provides for a healthy interaction between teachers and students as well. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was one of the most distinguished diplomats, scholars and teachers of India, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of the country. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday is observed as Teacher's Day across India. Leonardo Da Vinci A Important Part Of The Italian...

Leonardo da Vinci was a important part of the Italian Renaissance. He influenced many people with his work. His work caused people to follow him in his beliefs and technique he used for projects he worked. Some of his ideas he did not receive credit for, but some of his inventions and ideas are still used today. Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy. Born from a couple that was not married, da Vinci was the child of a respected notary and a young peasant woman. His father, Ser Piero, and his stepmothers raised Da Vinci. By age 14, da Vinci began apprenticing and working with the artist Verrocchio. For six years, he learned a wide variety of technical skills consisting of metalworking, leather arts,†¦show more content†¦However, da Vinci never completed that piece, because he moved to Milan to work for the ruling Sforza clan. He would serve them as an engineer, painter, architect, designer of court festivals and, most importantly, a sculptor. The family asked da Vinci to create a 16-foot-tall equestrian statue made out of bronze. This statue would honor their dynasty founder Francesco Sforza. Da Vinci worked on the project on and off for twelve years. In 1493, a clay model of the statue was ready to display. However, Imminent war meant repurposing the b ronze earmarked for the sculpture into cannons. The clay model was destroyed in the conflict following the loss of power of the ruling Sforza in 1499. Da Vinci’s â€Å"The Last Supper,† was painted during his time in Milan, which was from about 1495 to 1498. â€Å"The Last Supper† is a tempera and oil mural on plaster. He created this painting for the refectory of the city’s Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Also known as â€Å"The Cenacle,† this painting is about fifteen by twenty nine feet and is the artist’s only surviving fresco. The painting depicts the Passover dinner, in which Jesus Christ addresses the Apostles and says, â€Å"One of you shall betray me.† One of the painting’s most vivid features in the painting is each Apostle’s distinct emotive expression and body language. When the French in 1499 (invaded Milan) and the Sforza family fled, da Vinci also escaped. He was possibly the first to Venice and then to Florence.
